Exclusive: A Year After, Pizzo Da LP Drops Visual For “Africa” (Lyrics Included)

Captioned as “A simple reminder of Africa’s great history and potential, Pizzo Da Lp finally drops the video to his 2021 released song titled “Africa”.

The talented lyricist dropped the visual on YouTube with a very compelling message about how Africa is.

The song features “Chisim” and it is off the “Minority Recitals” album.

Lyrics:

Africa!
Africa!

Look around
Money dey
But if you look closer
E be like money no dey
Fighting for what
Fighting for God
Fighting over resource oh
Fighting for gangs
We fight overland
What is the plan?
Is it voodoo
Are we under a spell?
We get story too
But we don’t tell
I say we get story too
But we don’t tell
But we don’t tell

Hey
Hey
Blackman!
Good morning
Wherever you are in the world
Good morning
Let’s get to work
To the paper no dulling
Sun looking bright
Mhen the future is calling
Under us
Is resource
Make we talk
Let’s agree
Make we chop
Make we prosper
Make we floss
Too much greed
Make e stop
All we need is love
Make e flow
Like the Nile
Either way we destroy and rebuilt
Better know it’s a choice
And we need a voice
So now is the time
For songs like Malema and Bobby Wine

Look around
Money dey
But if you look closer
E be like money no dey
Fighting for what
Fighting for God
Fighting over resource oh
Fighting for gangs
We fight overland
What is the plan?
Is it voodoo
Are we under a spell?
We get story too
But we don’t tell
I say we get story too
But we don’t tell
But we don’t tell

Hey!
Hey!
Checkout the resume
Its royalty heavily
Mansa Musa
Muhammad Rumfa
Shaka Zulu
Osei Tutu
Heille Silasi
Mumar Ghadafi
Nelson Mandela
Fela Kuti
Kwameh Nkurma
Jomo Kenyata
But what is the mathematics today
The numbers don’t add up to demands that we make
From Antananarivo
To the horn
D.R.C we need a new song
When I see Rwanda
I see a new dawn
When I look at Africa’s map
All I see is a gun
So let’s shoot!

Look around
Money dey
But if you look closer
E be like money no dey
Fighting for what
Fighting for God
Fighting over resource oh
Fighting for gangs
We fight overland
What is the plan?
Is it voodoo
Are we under a spell?
We get story too
But we don’t tell
I say we get story too
But we don’t tell
But we don’t tell

Tellaman Taking a More Hip Hop Centered Direction for Upcoming Album with Nasty C Assisted Second Single

0

Jelly and Jam, rice and beans, Nigerian jollof and fried plantain, Nasty C and Tellaman are some of the combos that never miss, once you see Tella and Junior on a tracklist together one knows you’re in for a hell of a ride. It is not out of place to say a Nasty C album is not complete without a Tellaman feature and vice versa as both artists have featured on almost all of each other’s projects throughout their careers.

Prior to dropping the single ‘Conversations’ Tella had released a heavily trap-influenced single although still a bit R&B, the single titled ‘LM4M‘ is followed up by Nasty C assisted ‘Conversation.’

‘Conversation’ is housed by a hard trap beat with heavy high hats and trap drums, with a trappy Nasty C hook to cap it all up.

Is this Tella telling us that we should expect more Hip Hop than R&B from his upcoming album? Only one way to find out injayam.

Stogie T Gives Zoocci Coke Dope His Flowers

0

Veteran South African lyricist Stogie T, formerly known as Tumi from the Volume went on Instagram to reiterate his position at the top echelon of African lyricists, while also giving flowers to some other lyricists and other professionals like Maglera Doe Boy and Zoocci Coke Dope.

“I am EVERY VERSE. I’d like to accept my SAHHA for the best lyricist 10 years running. Okay I am done #IWriteTheseForWhoeverNeedsit,” the veteran lyricist said on Instagram.

Stogie praised Maglera’s verse on Boity’s ‘031’s Finest’ and ‘what’s arguably the best of the year, the 16 Maglera laid on Mashbeatz‘ ‘Never Ride‘with Thato Saul.

In the same vein, Stogie shouted out Pretoria Producer and rapper Zoocci Coke Dope complimenting the Piff Life boss’ work ethic.

Stogie was one of the first mainstream artists to have given Zooci a chance during his come-up years when Stogie jumped a Zoocci beat, back when Zoocci was sending out free beats and hooks in hopes of getting a big name on one of them

Taking to Instagram, Stogie T expressed his love for Zoocci and expressed how much he respects how the producer carries himself despite all the criticism.

“I have a lot of love for Zooci Coke Dope. He takes himself very seriously, I love that, I have had convos with people who think he is gassed on himself and whatnot. I would rather have a homie full of himself and work at greatness than full of sh*t. I love you Zoocci and salute to you for always taking yourself seriously,” he wrote.
