Ntukza Pushes Back ‘Shalom EP’ for a 2023 Release Date

Many fans would know Ntukza from his role as a member of the legendary South African hip hop/kwaito trio Teargas, alongside Ma-E and K.O. The younger generation might know the veteran from his recent feud with former Teargas member and friend K.O. While fans have been incessantly calling for a Teargas comeback album or concert or at least a collaboration between Ntukza and K.O, the former has decided to instead put out solo work now that his name is ringing in the industry again.

Ntukza had gone on Twitter to announce an EP titled ‘Shalom’ to be released before the end of the year much to the excitement of his and Teargas fans.

The ‘Bambelela‘ rapper then made a U-Turn and decided that for some reasons the project will ow be coming in early 2023, in order to fix certain things and also reach a wider audience when it drops, Ntukza hinted in a series of tweets.

“There’s quite a demand for me to release music now so I thought, I might as well without feeling any pressure. I’m always on studio anyway. Stay ready so you don’t have to be ready,”

Most rap fans knew Nasty C from the ‘Juice Back Remix’ single featuring Cassper Nyovest and Nigerian Afrobeats giant Davido., however Tsibip was not the first A-List rapper to give Nasty a Co-sign. AKA ad already predicted that the young Durban native would one day take over the SA rap game, as far back as 2014. Most fans know how much Nasty adores AKA and K.O. The ‘Hell Naw’ rapper took to his Instagram to drop a list of five emcees that are his favorite in SA hip hop history, to make up for the highly debated list he gave at his SA Hip Hop Mag interview.

In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, the rapper shared the SA rappers he looks up to. “This is purely based off the people I grew up on and the people that when they drop songs I listen to them and go, ‘F***, I need to go back and write’. It’s people like AKA, of course. Maggz, at a point. Definitely Proverb, 100%. There was a point where I was listening to a lot of Mr Selwyn, I don’t know what happened to him. And K.O. has to be there, for sure.”

In his first list, Nasty C did not include Cassper Nyovest and when he was asked the reason, he said; “Never really been in my top 5 rappers, but like, as a musician, he’s definitely up there. Musician, businessman, definitely up there.”

The new and updated list includes Cassper and Da L.E.S who is not much of a surprise as he is one of the earliest pioneers of English rap in the modern era of SA hip hop.

Frequent collaborator and legend Stogie T made the list, alongside AKA and K.O which Nasty has been shouting out as his inspiration since his ‘Price City mixtape’ days.

Stormzy’s Third Album ‘This Is What I Mean’: Release Date, Tracklist & Features

British-Ghanaian Rapper and Lyricist, Stormzy, comes through with the release of a new Album Project titled “This Is What I Mean“.

Fans have been patiently awaiting the follow-up to his wildly successful sophomore album, ‘Heavy Is The Head‘, which was released in 2019 to critical acclaim.

The 29-year-old artist burst onto the scene with his first record, ‘Gang Signs & Prayer‘, back in 2017 after the release of two extended plays and one mixtape.

The newly launched Album “This Is What I Mean” consists of Twelve (12) solid recorded studio tracks and serves as a no-feature Album project.

Stormzy dropped ‘This Is What I Mean‘ on November 25, almost three years after the release of his last album.

The grime star first teased the news of his upcoming album after he took to the stage on the first night of his UK tour to announce that he is releasing new music this year!

He returned to the road after his ‘Heavy Is The Head‘ tour was subjected to several delays due to COVID-19.

The first concert of his long-awaited tour kicked off on March 13 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff – and he treated the audience to the scoop on his next record.

He played a video to the crowd that confirmed the album rumours, saying in the clip: “This is the album of my dreams. This album is deeper than man could ever imagine. I’m free.”

The video showed the musician in the studio and concluded with a message to fans, revealing that the project was available to pre-order.
