Priddy Ugly Takes us to the Grimy Hoods of Tembisa for ‘1632’ Video

0

South African emcee and lyricist Ricardo Moloi popularly known as Priddy Ugly has just released the song ‘1632’ as the second single from his highly praised EP ‘MUD,’ the single follows the lead single ’30 Minutes to Soweto’ which featured Maglera Doe Boy. The song is accompanied by a grimy video shot in the lower-middle-class South African township of Tembisa. It follows the streets diary narrative of violence, poverty, and scrapping for survival explored in the song’s lyrics, which are pretty similar to what the lead single of the EP portrayed.

So it’s safe to say the video directed, shot & edited by Nkululeko ‘Armsdeal’ Lebambo Of CIDEFX FILMS, uses Tembisa as the Soweto for this song and video, the canvas for which Priddy paints the picture of the gruesome realities of the average black South African.

Priddy Ugly’s ‘MUD’ EP has received heavy critical acclaim by fans and critics alike with hip hop heads all over the country praising the rapper’s pen once again as he solidifies himself as one of the all-time best lyricists Mzansi hip hop has seen. Enjoy the ‘1632’ video below.
