Nasty C and Emtee Share a Special Bromance On Twitter. It’s not long ago when Nasty C showed much love to Emtee after the release of the album “Logan” by sharing the album link to his audience, therefore endorsing it. The relationship of the two hip hop rappers has been nothing but a purple patch.
At the birth of their hip hop careers, Nasty C and Emtee’s relationship suffered baseless comparisons from the fans. But the two have remained firm focusing on their music projects and they worked together on “Winning” a few years ago.
Rewinding back to 2020, the hip hop rapper Gemini Major took to social media and brewed a Nasty C and Emtee battle on Instagram Live. This sparked a divided opinion about the two hip hop superstars, but the duo could not allow social media reactions to get at each other. Rather they have continued to show massive support on each other’s work on professional level and personal level.
Throughout the years, the duo have showed good sentiments to each other on social media and we have enjoyed watching their bromance grow despite the different waves thrown at them. Emtee’s recently took to twitter sending Nasty C some love after running into each other.
“Good seeing you the other day Gang @Nasty_CSA,” tweeted Emtee. Nasty C responded to Emtee’s tweet, sending greeting to his family too. “Always good seeing you my brada send my love to the youngens,” Nasty C responded.
The exchange is an indication that these two have much respect for each other.
In addition, should we be on the lookout for another collaboration from them? Only time will tell, for now we can only groove to their recent work including the Emtee’s Logan Album.
Big Hash Shares Who He Thinks Is The Most Quoted SA Rapper! Rappers as we know them have big egos and would take the first chance to brag about themselves, whether lyrically or how dope their catalogues are, which is why we were caught by surprise by Big Hash’s response to a question posed for SA Hi Hop fans on twitter.
A twitter user took to the platform asking fans of SA Hip Hop who they thought is the most quoted rapper currently. The Big Hash jumped on the conversation responding with a subtle answer which also came with a command. It seems according to Big Hash, no local rapper can touch A-Reece when it comes to quotables. “REECEPECT HIM,” Big Hash responded.
This response has left most people wondering and others speculating who he might be referring to. From the comments reacting to his tweet, it looks like the people in the comments have endorsed A-Reece as the most quoted SA Hip hop rapper. Big Hash giving props to A-Reece is not however surprising as it’s not the first time he’s publicly showed his love for A-Reece. The duo has a history having worked together on a couple of projects.
A-Reece is back with a bang after beginning off 2021 with his catchy tunes “Morning Peace” and “5 Year Plan.” ‘Today’s Tragedy, Tomorrow’s Memory,’ the Mzansi rap star’s long-awaited and highly anticipated fifth full-length effort received much attention with his bar for bar lyrical content captivated his fans quoting most of his lyrics to their everyday life.
Despite gaining a cult-like following among his ever-loyal fan base, A-Reece chooses to stay aloof and away from the spotlight and his music journey has not been marred with a lot of scandals compared to other Hip hop artists. Ever since his cameo it has been great paying attention to his music prowess.
South Africa-based Nigeria lyricist Fyve Shinobi teams up with Producer/DJ Teck-Zilla for this one-off single “Personality Disorder” that aims to showcase the rapper’s pedigree as a student of the game.
Over pounding drum grooves and ominous strings provided by Teck, Fyve embodies the spirits of 8 emcees who have inspired him along the way and they range from the veterans to the new.
It starts off with the gruffness of the late great DMX, followed by the characteristic raspy Jadakiss. He takes us back to 96 with the legendary Biggie smalls before going off-kilter with Busta Rhymes’s untethered style.
Next up, he takes on the quirkiness of Slim Shady alongside his descriptive style before switching into some cocky dramatics à la Drake. To close it out he battles his inner demons with the help of K dot before solidifying the track with an all-out verbal assault from the renowned lyrical version of German engineering aka Canibus.
“Personality Disorder” is the precursor to the forthcoming mixtape ‘Scrolls Of A Shinobi’ by Fyve Shinobi and Teck-Zilla
Family Tree Allegedly In Trouble With The Taxman. Family Tree Records is in the news again and this time it’s not for who is signed to the label but rather the label tax issues. Family Tree Records is award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest’s record label. Family Tree was launched in 2014 and is an independent record label, the stable was once home to rappers such as Nadia Nakai, Tshego and Chad the Don. At the present moment, Casper is the only artist that is signed to the label. According to a new report by newspaper City Press, Family Tree is not in the good books of the taxman.
According to a report by the publication, Casper’s stable is said to be owing income taxes which amount to R135 155.19 to the South African Revenue Services (SARS). It is reported that SARS has issued a final letter of demand to the award-winning rapper demanding that they settle the outstanding amount in 10 days if they fail to do so the company will be attached by Sars. The taxman is notorious for coming after the famous faces of South Africa recently Zahara was also in trouble with the taxman and almost faced arrest. Cassper has been mum on the report this is probably why Cassper doesn’t want to reveal much about his assets especially when it comes to his cars.
This is not Casper’s first time running into trouble with the taxman a few years ago the rapper found himself in trouble with the taxman over unpaid taxes amounting to R12.9 million. One would have assumed that Casper by now would have been more educated when it comes to matters of SARS and avoid trouble. During his interview on Somizi Mhlongo’s cooking talk show had spoke about his experience of being in trouble with the taxman. The fault is not with SARS problem for me it starts with the education because you go to school and you don’t get taught about tax and you are supposed to and then one day they send you a letter to say “bro you are owing. “All I kept thinking was ‘yoh Cassper Nyovest on the front page.” I was just thinking of the day my cars were in a truck,” shared Cassper.
In 2019, the rapper admitted that he had a tough year financially and got candid with his fanbase about SARS coming down on him hard. He also shared that his Fill Up Moses Mabhida concert also left him in debt. “Even this year. Probably my toughest financial year in a looooooong while. Mabhida hurt my pockets and then the tax man also came down on me but God still made a way,” tweeted Cassper at the time.
Watch! A-Reece Takes Fans Behind The Making Of Upcoming Album With Jay Jody. A-Reece fans were in for a super treat this Friday as the rapper announced that finally his joint album with his brother Jay Jody is done. In celebration of the album finally being done the rappers shared a video of the scenes of the making of the album. The clip shows the guys in the studio working hard on creating new magic, the visuals were or shot by Saya Creatives who are usually the ones behind the lenses on several of Reece’s projects. Fans have been waiting for the brothers to finally release this project that they have been hinting at. In September they released a track called ridiculous under the name ‘blue tape’, this was when fans started to expect a joint project from them.
For the project, A-Reece and Jay Jody worked with producers Iceman Beatz and tkay10staxx. It will be interesting to see what direction the brothers take on the album as they both can speak on personal tragedy, or they could go with something more up tune especially considering it is summer and the fans are looking to get groovy with the music a bit. One thing is certain though both areas and changes will bring their A-game when in terms of flow and bars, the two are known to be stellar rappers and fans have high expectations. It will be interesting to see how the rappers also merge their styles on the project.
There has been no word as to when the highly anticipated album will drop, fans will certainly have to keep on their toes when it comes to the release date. The idea for the album was birthed in August after Jay Jody told the award-winning rapper that they should work on an album or something. They wasted no time as in September they dropped Ridiculous, where they deliver a few shots at the game. It’s now October and the album is done, a clear sign that fans could expect the release to happen before the year ends.
A-Reece recently celebrated the anniversaries of his projects Paradise turned 5, From Me to You and Only You turned 4, And I’m only 21 turned 3. A-Reece shared the moment with his supporters who have been riding with him on his musical voyage. “wow… to many more! a special musical voyage to remember forever all thanks to the real supporters,” tweeted A-Reece. While at a gig over the weekend, Kid X informed Makwa that the song Mtano Muntu has reached platinum status. That alone was enough for Kid X to label “Makwa A Living Legend”. Makwa, a prominent hip hop music producer, was featured on the song, which was published years ago and his works have done wonders since then. Not everyone sorely believes that Makwa The Producer deserves a fine share of the “MtanoMuntu” Plaque. Nevertheless, Makwa explains why he’s never owned plaques despite being a Diamond And Platinum Selling Producer.
Following the song’s most recent success, the father of one chose to present the producer with his plaque at a concert. Kid X applauded everyone who committed to the song’s popularity, which has received over 3 million views on YouTube since its debut in 2018.
Mnan’ Omuntu is a love song having a Hip Hop, Soul, and Maskandi flavor to it. Since it is a remake of their original smash single of the same name, the song produced a very familiar sensation. Kid X delivers this great piece with Makwa Beats on the hook and handles the production himself.
Kid X raps on Mtan’ Omuntu about his love for the woman in his life. We get to hear him refine and genuinely get vulnerable and tell her how he truly feels as he tries to pursue her. Kid X demonstrated his variety and potential as an artist who creates more than music in this song, which is a significant departure from Aunty. In addition, the fans have reacted positively, with the majority applauding Kid X’s cadence and melody.
However, in the thick of the backstage tussles over money and split sheets, Makwa kept delivering success after hit, assisting Kid X in re-establishing his sound in his new enterprise as part-owner of RapLyf Records. It’s a journey that is so deserving to have the “Living Legend” status. His works clearly echo what he has done for the SA hip hop space.
Above all, the song was a smash hit in South Africa, selling over half a million copies. The track has continued to play at some of the country’s most prestigious festivals and concerts throughout the years. What sets the song apart is its outstanding blend of soul, jazz, and R&B songs with a classic flavor.
“This should’ve been one of my plaques but it is my first plaque out of all the HITS I made. They told me to buy it but I refused for a long time until my brother @KiDXsa pull up with one for me. MtanoMuntu went Platinum Raising hands @KiDXsa thank You big bro”.
“Last night was monumental. I brought out my bro @only1makwa to surprise him with his plaque and the news that #MntanoMuntuIsPlatinum. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for this moment. Thank you mojita for producing and featuring on my first platinum plaque. Thank you to ama grootmaan @shwinomtekhala for their blessing and amazing contribution. Thank you to my broers at Raplyf for their priceless contribution to my journey and career. Thank you to every single radio station and TV channel that has helped spread the music,” the music artist said.
“Thank you to @omfilmssa (@ofentsemwase & @nelisiwemwase) for the amazing visuals that propelled this song to these great heights. Thank you to the entire team at @sonymusicafrica for riding with the boy and doing everything to make this possible. Thank you to my broer @kash_sa for the countless effort he put into making this record and video come together. Thank you to my fans, every single person who streamed, downloaded, liked, shared, referred this song to the next person. You all contributed to this priceless moment. I’m eternally grateful.”
