0

Lehlohonolo Ronald Mataboge of Danville Extension 3, Atteridgeville, West Pretoria, is set to launch his new label and drop new music on a traditional date. A-Reece has had several label/crew disputes in the past, from Ambitiouz Entertainment to The Wrecking Crew and Rubberband Gang, now Reece is ready to keep all the money in the family as he readies his independent label co-founded with his elder brother, rapper Jay Jody.

The last two A-Reece projects dropped in 2021; ‘heaveN CaN waiT: volumE 1’ and ‘Today’s Tragedy Tomrrow’s Memory’ both bore the crest of a label called ‘Revenge Club Records.’

In early 2022 it was reported that the name ‘Revenge Club Records’ was publicly registered and copyrighted.

On the red carpet in this year’s SAMAs A-Reece told reporters that he is about to launch the new label and our guesses are that the label will not only Reece and Jody but also Wordz who has always been with Reece on whichever stable he is under, and maybe 25k who is from Pretoria and is heavily affiliated with Reece and Jody.

Fans have also called for A-Reece to sign Pretoria new kid Tyson Sybatelli and bring back producer Mashbeatz

Moving on to new music, Baby Boy announced on the third installment of his ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better‘ series that he will be dropping new music in Libra season with the lyrics ”They want me to prove what I’m worth I tell ’em, I’ll see you niggas on October 21st, yeah.”

October 21 has in the past been a traditional date for A-Reece, his debut and sophomore albums ‘Paradise’ and ‘From Me To You & Only You‘ were released on the same date in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The next project ‘And I’m Only 21’ was also released on the same date in 2018. Since then Reece has not been consistent with the date.

The 25-year-old rapper recently tweeted ”10 WEEKS” and the fans have been speculating what project will be dropping on the announced date, between’ Paradise 2,’The Burning Tree Deluxe’ and ‘heaveN caN waiT vol 2.’

Pretoria rapper, singer, and independent artist The Big Hash announced his debut album titled ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ sometime last year, fans waited patiently and the album never came. After his debacle with former label Inannetwav, Hash instead of his debut album dropped an EP titled ‘Aries: A Precursor to Heartbreak Hotel’ in 2022, then went on to drop a few other singles including his collaboration with Durban’s Lucasraps, and has now announced yet another project that is not ‘Heartbreak Hotel.’

The rapper who dropped ‘Sharp Shooter‘ last Friday took to his Instagram account to alert fans on the latest happenings in his life and where his career is headed.

The post stated that the rapper has been dealing with hard times, betrayal from friends, and a tumor in his mother’s brain amongst other issues.

Young Biggy as his fans call him had announced a deluxe version for his ‘Aries’ mixtape, but now that has been scrapped as he mentioned that he wanted to drop ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ immediately after the deluxe project, but his curet reality has shifted his mindset and now a different project is coming.

The project will now serv as his debut album is titled ‘Better Late Than Never‘ and will chronicle his current mind state amidst all the trials and tribulations.

We guess Phora does not have to worry about sharing his album title anymore.

Are you hyped for the new Big Hash? The release date is sometime in October and the pre-save link is on his Instagram bio.

Brymo and AQ Announce Joint Album ‘ETHOS.’

0

Olawale Ashimi and Gilbert Bani, most commonly known as Brymo and AQ respectively are somewhat an unlikely duo but they do have a few things in common; both are veterans in the Nigerian music industry who have been sidelined by the mainstream for most of their careers, only to find acceptance by a niched cult fanbase at the twilights of their careers.

Brymo has scored the most number of projects (14) by a Nigerian music act and AQ runs his own record label 100 crowns in affiliation with Chocolate City, which houses the Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez.

The rapper and singer have come together to work on ten track a joint project titled ‘ETHOS.’

On August 4th, 2022, the AQ announced the album is slated to be released on Friday, August 12th, 2022.

Both artists are known for their poetic lyricism charged with socially conscious philosophical musings and stream-of-consciousness proclivities.

Brymo’s last album ‘Theta‘ was released earlier this year to much critical acclaim, AQ is just coming off a joint tape with label mates MI Abaga, Loose Kaynon, and Blaqbonez titled ‘Behold the LAMB.’

Brymo is also known for controversial political takes and social opinions but that has not hampered the growth of his career nor the acceptance of his art by fans and peers alike. This makes one wonder if it is safe to christen cancel culture a myth.
