Ladipoe’s international growth skyrocketed after the success of his recent single ‘Feeling’ alongside breakthrough vocalist BUJU spread across the globe.

Running’ featuring Fireboy DML ahead of his highly anticipated EP next month. Designed to uplift, the instantly contagious song merges Poe’s powerful rap flow and delivery with an anthemic chorus from Fireboy. With production driven by Andre Vibez, Running’ reflects Poe’s musical DNA incorporating his poignant penship and feel-good spirit.

Ladipoe’s international growth skyrocketed after the success of his recent single ‘Feeling’ alongside breakthrough vocalist BUJU spread across the globe.

The track broke records racking up over 80M streams in addition to being the first song in Nigeria to go to No.1 on YouTube without a video. Global impact of the track contributed to a well-earned BET Awards Nomination for Best International Flow which he narrowly missed out on to Little Simz.

Celebrating the success of ‘Feeling’, this summer he spent weeks in the UK immersing himself in the culture, connecting with in demand rapper Millionz before joining Mavin Records label mate Rema on stage at All Points East before returning back to Lagos.

Growing up, Poe had a very different life set out for him, he studied a double major and masters in the US, in North Carolina with the intention of becoming a doctor. It wasn’t until a friend sent him a beat that his obsession for music and writing lyrics began, and the rest they say is history.

He was there at the inception of the highly regarded Alté scene, and has since worked with the likes of Tems, Teni, Falz, Crayon, Simi to name a few. LADIPOE has succeeded in switching things up and changing the narrative surrounding rappers from Nigeria. His lyrics make him stand out within the global rap scene and his lyrics never fail to invoke a reaction.

Kwame Yesu & Ghanaian Stallion taps Ypee for Ma’sem off their upcoming Project “Brought The Rage”

ReBo Tribe’s Kwame Yesu links up again with frequent collaborator Ghanaian Stallion, alongside Ypee of the Asakaa drill community for their first single “MA’SEM” off their forthcoming joint project.

Best known for his most recent song “Anadwo” which featured Black Sherif (known for his hard hitting street anthems mouthed by everyone in the Accra City “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon”) both songs produced by Ghanaian Stallion and Mimlife Records’ Kimilist (who’s also had a drill record with Yesu and Yaw TOG titled “Sika”).

Stallion’s production with an amazing sample of a funky trumpet and string flip, Kwame Yesu speaks point blank on wanting to do his thing and be on the  move with his work uninterrupted while YPee wittingly lets naysayers know that their efforts to bring him down are looking shaky and will turn out unsuccessful eventually. Definitely a song deserving of as many spins as possible, put on playlists and worthy of being the type you’d want to have rights to holding the aux cord.

Cassper Explains Why He Doesn’t Enjoy Performing In Clubs

Cassper Explains Why He Doesn’t Enjoy Performing In Clubs. The Covid-19 pandemic has really changed the way things are done, especially when it comes to the events space. Rapper, producer and entrepreneur Cassper Nyovest is known to give crowd-pleasing performances and is best known for his fill-up concerts, which are known for selling out. The popular artist recently took to social media to reflect on how he doesn’t enjoy performing in the clubs.

The club scene in South Ah is currently booming as the country opens up more acts are being booked to perform at the hottest spots. Cassper now that he has returned home is booked and busy it seems he is not enjoying it so much. The popular rapper explained to his fanbase that he would rather perform festivals or his own stadium shows than at the club. Cassper detailed that people at the clubs are looking to hear music and dance as opposed to really watching performances from artists.

The multi-award-winning rapper also expressed that he can’t wait till the country gets to a point where Covid is over and things could pick up again. “I don’t enjoy performing in clubs like I enjoyed playing at festivals and my own stadium shows. People in the club aren’t really there to see performances. They want to hear music and dance. I really can’t wait to we over covid, I feel we have even forgotten how dangerous it is,” shared Cassper. The club scene is certainly not for all artists, last year Kwesta returned to club performances after bowing out in July 2019. The rapper took the decision to stop performing at clubs, as stages were small to set everything up for his performances. “It’s too small to set everything up, so I’ve decided to stop doing those kind of gigs. I want to give everyone a show they deserve, unless the club can provide that type of setup,” Kwesta explained at the time.

“I don’t enjoy performing in clubs like I enjoyed playing at festivals and my own stadium shows. People in the club aren’t really there to see performances. They want to hear music and dance. I really can’t wait to we over covid, I feel we have even forgotten how dangerous it is.

Several big music events had to be cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic, this resulted in event space taking a huge knock. Iconic venues such as the Ticketpro Dome found themselves having to close their doors and sell the popular event’s venue due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The closure of the venue was sad news for many South Africans, especially Cassper who still had plans to return to the venue for yet another fill-up concert. “This hurts. wanted to do 1 more show there when the country opens. I’m not okay,” tweeted the rapper in reaction to the closure.

As Lekki tollgate anniversary looms, AQ celebrates EndSARS fighters in new video for, ‘Shoot The Messenger’

Earlier in the year, AQ released his critically-acclaimed album, GOLDEN. It was filled with riveting social-political messages and a pungent message around death. But ‘Shoot The Messenger’ was celebratory, albeit in its dark lustre. AQ is both happy, calm and agitated.

This video bares its lustre and the morose nature of the song’s plot.

“We’ll Never Be Quiet” – Falz Reveals Plans by Government to Silence #EndSars Remembrance | READ

Nigerian rapper, Falz has revealed that the Lagos State government is organizing concerts to silence those planning to remember last year’s End Sars victims.

Falz revealed that the Lagos police Commissioner warned citizens against performing their rights, hindering plans to honor the End Sars victims from last year. He revealed this via his Instagram page on Friday, the 15th of October, 2021.

”They killed innocent souls that were simply asking not to be killed or brutalized.

A year later, no one has been punished yet for those heinous crimes.

A supposed Police Commisioner “warned” against citizens exercising their fundamental human rights. Yes a Police Commisioner.

A couple of well meaning citizens decided to put together a summit to reflect on last year’s events & honour the lost souls. Event centre pulls out (“instructions from above”)

As I type this, there is already HEAVY police presence at the Lekki toll gate.

Best thing they could come up with is organizing “concerts” to try and distract us from remembering the real heroes in all of this. The people they murdered.

What we will never do, however, is be quiet.

We will NEVER EVER EVER EVER be silenced.

Not today, not on the 20th, not ever.

✊🏾❤️“

The End Sars protests last year, led by prominent personalities like Falz was held to complain against the incessant excesses of the Nigerian police and their rogue SARS unit. The protests culminated in an ugly end last year as some protestors at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos were allegedly chased with bullets by the Nigerian military, with fatalities incurred.

Reason Defends Cassper’s Drip Footwear Business Partner Against Online Criticism

Reason Defends Cassper’s Drip Footwear Business Partner Against Online Criticism. Rapper Reason is known to say a few controversial things at times but it seems that he knows where to draw the line. Recently the rapper defended popular sneaker brand Drip Footwear founder Freddy Lekau Sehoana from online criticism. Cassper has a partnership with the local sneaker brand, he signed a R100 million deal with Lekau earlier this year and they dropped the Root of Fame sneaker which has become highly popular among consumers. Lekau has unfortunately made headlines as he is being sued for 34% of his business.

Reason recently shared his thoughts on a tweet that criticized Lekau’s contract with the Pretoria investor that is suing him. The rapper was not here for the negative sentiments regarding Lekau’s situation and he responded to the tweep and shared with the Twitter user that instead of hating and hating, people should be supporting the businessman. Reason in his post shared that it breaks his heart to see black people laughing at each other’s mistakes. “We should all be crying. Not laughing,” remarked the rapper. Reason  may certainly have a point, as it is often said do not kick a man while he is down.

According to Sunday World, Lekau is being sued by Alfred Mashiya for 34% of his company. The two are said to have entered into a “contract of investment” where he loaned him R45 700 to pay for 200 pairs of sneakers. The Drip Footwear founder was meant to pay back the loan before December 31, 2019, with an interest of R18 000 and also R100 from the first 5000 sneakers that were sold. The two also agreed that in the event Lekau defaulted in paying the R100 from the first 5000 pairs he would be entitled to shares.

“In light of the breach and as per the contract, I’m entitled to 34% of Drip Footwear company calculated from the 1st of August 2020, being the date of the breach until the day of the fourth day of September 2020, being the date which I instructed my attorney to execute a letter of demand to have the second respondent issue the demanded shares of the company into my name, the demand which the second responded ignored, ” read an affidavit that Sunday World has seen.

Cassper’s legacy deal with the sneaker brand with Lekau is not mentioned in Sunday World’s report, a sign that things are still in order. The deal when it was initially announced received online backlash by the public who wanted to understand the deal better. The deal was announced before Cassper had even dropped his sneaker, however, it does seems that deal is worth every cent as according to Mufasa the sneaker is selling out.
