A-Reece Releases New Song to Celebrate Birthday

Few days after Nasty C drops a song, A-Reece surprisingly does the same to celebrate his 25th birthday on March 27th, 2022. Long-time fans of the South African lyricist, popularly called The Slimes, are aware of the ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better’ Series. Reece usually drops on his birthday.

Albeit nobody expected a new installment of the series in 2022, as Reece seldom announces his releases or makes a huge PR run for them prior to release, the slimes woke up to a pleasant surprise on the morning of the Pretroria rapper’s birthday.

The new song is called, ‘ Couldn’t Have Said It Better Pt.3,’ the third installment in the ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better’ Series, it is a super lyrical showmanship wordsmithery that A-Reece is known for.

In the 2 minutes, 49 seconds song, Baby Boy is heard updating the fans on his latest moves, as he only relies on his songs and not Social Media to do this.

He talks about feeling blessed on his birthday, gifting himself the beat he raps on, his mother and brothers, his self-worth, and finally ending the song by announcing another release on October 21.

The release may be his long-awaited album, ‘Paradise 2: The Big Hearted Bad Guy,’ sequel to his debut album, 2016’s ‘Paradise. ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better Pt1 & 2‘ were released on the rapper’s 20th  and 21st birthday respectively.

Nasty C delivers a mellow, laid-back, autotuned verse about ‘bringing the freak out of his love interest,’ to cap Hanu’s praise of his lost love.

Nasty C is “Rapping Again,” on New Song Titled ‘Can’t Imagine’

0

In our last editorial post, we predicted a new Nasty C album is on the way, on the same day the Durban emcee announced he was releasing a new song the next day, March 25th, 2022. The rapper posted a short snippet of the song titled ‘Can’t Imagine’ and its cover art on his official Instagram account @nasty_csa.

South African hip hop legend Slikour, from the rap group Skwatta Kamp, commented ”let’s rap” on the post buttressing the feeling of many hip hop fans about a lack of “hard rap songs” from Nasty C in recent time, recent time here referring to the era after his 2018 album, ‘Strings & Bling.’

‘Can’t Imagine’ features hard-hitting 808’s, hi-hats, and haunting, sharp horns, with a lyrical verse sprinkled with a level of braggadocio one would expect from Jay Z.

This may be a prelude to more rap songs from the emcee or a farewell to hardcore rap in favor of more melodic cuts, but one thing is sure that Nasty C can still really rap, when he wants to.

Enjoy ‘Can’t Imagine and don’t forget to share with your friends on all social media platforms.

I was introduced to ‘vulnerable sexuality’ at six -Rapper Eva Alordiah

Nigerian rapper, Eva Alordiah, has spoken out about her unwilling debut into the world of sex as a child. On Wednesday, in a series of tweets addressing questions she received during her Instagram stories Question and Answer session, the rapper revealed that she was introduced to “vulnerable sexuality” at the age of six.

Alordiah also condemned fans who were in the habit of peering into her sex life and trying to use the same as a “yardstick to measure how good of a woman” she was. She wrote, “So yesterday someone asked me in QnA in my stories if I was a virgin. I understand this question considering the type of society I grew up in. It is a sort of yardstick to measure how ‘good’ of a woman you are. Every time I put up a QnA, there is always that one cow who asks this question, ‘Are you a virgin?’ “No. And you must be very stupid to go around asking women you don’t know questions like this. I may be wrong but I don’t think I have ever seen this question directed at men.”

Alordiah further stated, “When the concept of being a virgin is brought up, it’s the ‘woman’ who is expected to be a Virgin.”

Thankfully, Life taught me different and my unique experience ensured that against my will, I was introduced to my own vulnerable sexuality at age six,” she disclosed. Eva maintained that her case was not peculiar, as many “men and women today carry heavy sexual trauma” because they were introduced to sex far too early in life.

She further condemned society’s judgemental nature which deterred people from opening up about their sexual abuse. “Many kids cover up the scars of the sexual abuse within, have no one to talk to, and then have to face a society that expects you to be perfect, untouched, and holy, otherwise you are going to hell,” she tweeted.

The rapper who recently made her comeback to the music scene maintained that she neither cared about society’s purity standards nor did she want to be seen as anyone’s role model. She said, “I’m a born sinner, not your idea of holy and I’ll never fit your model of perfect. So please, don’t look up to me. Look in the mirror.”

Is a New Nasty C Album in the Works?

0

The last time we heard from Zulu man with some power was on Audiomarc’s Why Me(Mbali), featuring himself and Blxckie, we all know it’s a Naty C song but we’ll let it slide. The big question is what has Junior Ncgobo been up to since then?

The Durban emcee recently released a ”salty, middle finger to an ex” minor hit titled Stalling, which quite frankly sounds like a precursor to something bigger. The song did not even get video treatment.

Nasty C must have noticed that fans have been itching for new music after releasing just two songs last year, as he has gone on a light feature spree; most notably a fire verse on Nigerian singer Hanu Jay’s Is She Louisa?

Since Nasty’s 25th Birthday show, a new is now present in Nasty C’s branding; he has taken various retro photos, rocking an old Kangol flat cap and suspender suits, complete with a Cuban cigar, in the style of middle-aged South African fathers from the Townships…Sizwe Bansi style.

New nasty c album

Is the above a new alter ego Nasty has created? a new character for a new story? Chances are that this is all the beginning of a rollout for a forthcoming project.

This notion is enforced by several videos surfacing on the web, of Nasty making new beats in his infamous home studio. There may be some unreleased bangers in the Ncgobo vault, and we might get to hear them soon.

Nasty C has been fairly quiet since 2020’s Zulu Man with Some Power. Do you think we are getting a new Nasty C album soon?
