On this day in 2022, the South African music industry lost beloved disc jockey, Dj Dimplez, real name Boitumelo Mooi from a sudden brain hemorrhage. The family had since posted a statement.
Dimplez was instrumental in helping grow the industry. From his keen sense of artist selection in his songs to the Pop Bottles event that became one of the most sought-after shows in Gauteng.
Dimplez was a pioneer and his passing was a true loss not only to his loved ones but to the entire SA Hip Hop fraternity as well. His passing came less than a month after frequent collaborator, Riky Rick, died.
