It’s hard keeping up with all the new music released each week. Just when you’ve fallen in love with a certain song, album or artist, something else drops. It’s a fun time to be a music fan, sure, but also tricky.

Rest easy though, as HipHopAfrica has you covered with our weekly New Music Friday post, featuring some of the latest artists, sounds and trends in Hip-Hop all-round Africa.

New Music Friday is a new playlist launched today from the Hip-hop Africa editorial team, This features a variety of new songs from Across the motherland and is available on HipHop Africa Spotify and HipHop Africa Radio. Updated every Friday

You’ll find a familiar (and not-so-familiar) array of artists, sound and emerging music. So, without further ado, here are 20 new records that you should kick off your week with — led by Yanga Chief from South Africa featuring fellow countrymen – Okmalumkoolcat and Casper Nyovest with the song “Shaza“.

It was a big week for Hip-Hop in Nigeria as The HipHop Event witnessed an event like never before with Vector headlining the event and making history as M.I Abaga now known as The Guy performed alongside Tha Viper on their song “Crown Of Clay” for the first time after its release. M.I Abaga follows on the playlist with “Pass The Mic”, in which he featured Barnyjuice, Fozter, Preacher Kingz, Punchline, Seghun.

Nigerian lyricist, AQ teamed up with Sossick on the song “Mercy”. Other Nigerians that made the playlist are SuperWozzy & Psycho YP on “The Same”, Naira Marley with “Girls Just Wanna Have Funds”, and Erigga The Goat” returns again this week.

Kumasi-Based Drill Rapper, Jay Bhad closed the Playlist with his creative tune titled “Anadwo

Show Dem Camp got featured on Deena Ade’sPoppin”, while Kwesi Aurther got featured on Criss Waddle‘s “King Kong”.

Solo tracks like “PLT In The Bank” by Straffitti, “Alors Alors” by Benzz and “Headie One” by 50s also made the playlist
