The South African Music Awards have announced their nominations list for other categories, in a live telecast on the morning of Tuesday, June 7th, 2022. This is just a day after the General categories nominees were announced the day before. Pretoria West indigenous rapper 25k has scooped up a nomination for Best Newcomer of the Year.
The prestigious category is for new artists who have made the biggest in the industry in their rookie year. 25K has had a successful debut year in the industry, and recently just received a gold plaque for his A-Reece collaboration ‘Hustler’s Prayer.’
The success of his debut album ‘Pheli Makaveli‘ will be going against Thapelo Lekoane’s ‘Tapestry,’ Khanyisile Mthethwa’s ‘African Bird,’ Ncebakazi Msomi’s ‘The 34th Psalm,’ Botanist Mr. Lemington’s ‘The Shift.’
