2022 Hennessy Cypher battle round contestant and Port Harcourt-born lyricist, David Lari, popularly known as Sknny announced the end of his long hiatus from dropping original with a new two singles pack titled ‘The Vibe Pack.’
‘The Vibe Pack’ consists of two singles ‘No Lie’ and ‘Vibing,’ and is the first time ”The Golden Child of Hip Hop” is releasing new official music since his 2021 song pack, ‘Darkest Hour Pack,’ and his first solo effort since 2020’s ‘Young and Clueless.’
Since then we have seen a slew of covers and freestyles from ‘Otis freestyle’ featuring Preacher Kingz and a remake of Drake and Jack Harlow’s ‘Churchill Downs’ featuring Alte rap prodigy Ravington.
‘The Vibe Pack’ alludes a pre-cursor to the new direction Lari is heading with his sound ; Marijuana and chill, feel good lo-fi music.
Wu-tang bars laden, melodic ‘No Lie’ which interpolates Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Lust’ sets the tone with its lo-fi production, is the curtain raiser and the main show is the Tonee C assisted ‘Vibing.’
There’s evident A-Reece and Wu-tang influence off the bat.
Standout bars include “Niggas claim they gangsta but they Poppa Doc.”
“You taking Ls, we pushing P.”
Both instrumentals are alike, “Vibing” housing the more energetic of the two.
