Olamide Mixes Bars with Yanos on New Asake Single ‘Amapiano’

Olamide Adedeji, also known as Baddo hopped on a Yanos song titled ‘Amapiano’ and said “watch me rap on this beat,” and boy did he glide. While gearing for the release of his sophomore album just barely a year after his debut, Nigerian sensation Ololade Ahmed, most popularly known as Asake, dropped a single with his label boss to usher in the album rollout, complete with a video.

The song is an ode to the borrowed genre Amapiano or Yanos as Urban South Africans call it, Asake has been infusing with his Afrobeats since his debut on the Nigerian music scene, he sings about the feel good nature and the addictiveness of the log drums and shaker replete on Amapiano instrumentals.

On Olamide’s verse on would think the versatile artist would sing, but he glides on the beat with a fully rap cadence as if he was rapping on a Chopstix or Timbaland beat.

Baddo drops bars about his extravagant lifestyle, success and loyal fan base, with the aid of movie and pop culture references.
