Ladipoe Releases ‘Big Energy’ Freestyle with Fire Visuals

Must Read

Earlier in the morning of Wednesday, June 8, 2022 uploaded a video on his Instagram account, of him and a dozen staff of Mavins Records vibing to a snippet of a song ostensibly titled ‘Big Energy.’ Later in the day, the Ikeja-born rapper officially releases visuals for the ‘Freestyle.’

The minute, forty-six seconds freestyle was treated to a black and white video of Ladip rapping next to a car on a highway, flexing big energy.

The freestyle is as expected doused in lyrical gems or ‘lifelines’ as Poe likes to refer to his lyrics. Several brow-raising bars include ballsy lines like ”the only charting rapper charting that’s really rapping” pointing at most Nigerian rappers who sing to get a hit song.

Another highlighted is what seems like a shot at MI Abaga, or at least any other veteran rapper in the Nigerian hip hop scene, whose identity we can only guess ”ones that claim to move the culture same ones that block the gates” and Lagos nightlife and industry beef with ”the ones that are always jealous but still party with me at (club) Envy. ”

Poe has seemingly thrown shots at Abaga before on his 2018 song ‘Revival‘ where he rapped lines that seemed to attack hundred crowns records, chocolate city, Abaga, and Blaqbonez.” Although Poe gave Blaq a shout-out on his ‘O Por remix’ in 2020.

His relevance in the industry was addressed on lines like ”acting like rap doesn’t go well with Afrobeats but my verse on ‘Overdose‘ is making it hard to breath” and ”underrated but still five times nominated.”
