Dogs have played a role in hip-hop for decades, from the animated artwork on Too Short’s 1990 album Short Dog’s in the House to the motley of mutts Snoop Dogg had on early covers to DMX’s snarling, barking ad-libs. (The latter two were later featured on Timbaland and Swizz Beat’s ultra-popular Verzuz series, in an episode called Battle Of The Dogs; the promotional material featured Snoop as a blue-eyed Doberman and X as a red-eyed Pitbull.) But outside a few exceptions, the genre’s doggy iconography has recently shifted. The days of rappers using big, muscular dogs with sharp teeth as stand-ins for their toughness have given way to something a bit cuddlier.
Naira Marley from Nigeria is a dog lover so it’s no news that his pets live more comfortably than some human beings.
The singer and record label boss, shared a cute video of his furry friends during dinner time, on his Instagram page on Wednesday, November 30.
In the clip, Naira Marley showed off the meal of full chicken that each canine gets for dinner and the struggle by each one of them to secure its meal first.
This was definitely not the first time Naira Marley had been doing so. In August of 2022, the Nigerian rapper and singer, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, made an interesting quote on his verified Instagram page.
The First Time in America crooner noted that the world should be a better place if everyone could love dogs.
Sharing a video of himself and dogs playing, he wrote, “The world would be a better place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog”
By the way the big brown furry ones are only 4 months and 3 weeks old now. Drop a comment if you’re a dog lover. Don’t forget to stream that new zino C.O.D.”
