Hennessy VS Class 2022 (EDITORIAL)

Must Read
Founder & Chief Creative Mind at Hiphop Africa

The Hennessy VS Class forms part of the annual Hennessy Artistry programme, a campaign by the French Cognac brand started in 2009 to promote hip hop culture in Nigeria. It is open to unsigned hip hop artists in search of a springboard for their careers.

Since 2009, Hennessy Artistry has become an integral part of Nigeria’s social fabric – Creating Iconic Moments, Exposing Talent, and creating collaborations across various music genres via the Hennessy Artistry Cyphers, VS Class, Artistry Club tours and the Hennessy Artistry Finale Concert.
From hip-hop to pop, rock or electronic music, these artistic encounters bring out sounds that create engaging parties accessible by invitation only.
Hennessy has been a key driver in promoting music; discovering new talent and propagating hip hop culture.

The unrivalled leader of cognac, the Maison Hennessy has shined around the world with its exceptional blends for more than 250 years. Built on founder Richard Hennessy’s spirit of conquest, the brand is present in more than 130 countries.

Matosan, an undergraduate at the University of Lagos, beat seven other finalists, namely Alaye Proof, Lauda, Dwad, El Rhey, Mickeyfols, Rik Hamale and Escore to win the title in season VII, which was previously held by Laud Reyes, the competition’s first female winner.

The search for the Hennessy VS Class 2022 winner has begun and the Hennessy Nigeria team and judges are taking to the streets to discover Nigeria’s next rap sensation.
